Post-Secondary and Continuing Education at the INSTN

The INSTN was created in 1956 to educate nuclear technicians, engineers and researchers in state-of-the-art scientific and technical disciplines.

The Institute still continues to spread the knowledge of the various applications of nuclear science and techology, especially in the fields of energy and medicine. However, the range of education and training it offers has diversified and is steadily enriched by continuing technological advancements and fundamental research discoveries at the CEA.

- Post-Secondary Education

- Continuing Education

In the European Arena, through its various partnerships and networks, particularly the association ENEN, the INSTN plays an active role in furthering the development of the European Higher Education Area. The Institute is also a participant in FP6 and FP7 (Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes for Research and Development) projects that are aimed at strengthening and promoting post-secondary and/or continuing education in a variety of fields: energy, nuclear engineering (ENEN-II, ENEN-III), fusion (FUSENET), plasma physics (PLAPA), radiation protection (ENEN-II, ENETRAP).

Finally, the INSTN also organises international initiatives through bilateral cooperative agreements initiated by the CEA and its industrial partners in nuclear sector.
