International School in Nuclear Engineering

INSTN organizes the 2020 Edition of the International School in Nuclear Engineering aiming at promoting knowledge in nuclear engineering (nuclear reactors and fuel cycle) engineering at a high education level.

The 2020 edition will offer 6 one-week independent advanced courses in nuclear engineering to be held in France (Cadarache, Marcoule, or Saclay), in January and February 2020. The courses are particularly designed for young researchers, PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and engineers, already having a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Science as a background.

The school presents the international state-of-the-art in the main topics of nuclear engineering:

  • reactor core physics,
  • thermal hydraulics,
  • nuclear materials,
  • nuclear fuels,
  • nuclear fuel cycle,
  • nuclear waste management.

Three ECTS will be awarded for each successfully completed course (one week). Lecturers are internationally known experts mostly from the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), the leading research organization in France for nuclear energy.
