OBJECTIFS
Acquire the knowledge and skills to produce radiopharmaceuticals in research and/or for clinical applications in nuclear medicine:
• realize comparative studies: scintigraphy versus other imaging techniques (MRI…) / PET / Gammacamera;
• explain the role and the use of radiopharmaceuticals in research and clinical applications;
• explain the clinical applications in nuclear medicine;
• apply the methods of toxicity assessment of the radiopharmaceuticals preparation;
• explain the vectorisation and drug interactions/adverse reactions of radiopharmaceuticals.
PUBLIC
Resident or professional pharmacists, lab researchers, engineers, chemists, biochimists working in hospitals, lab or companies in the nuclear medicine field.
PRÉ-REQUIS
Master of Science in biochemistry or biology, or postgraduate pharmacist level, as well as basic knowledge in radiation protection.
CERTIFICATION
A certificate will be issued to students who successfully passed the written exam. This certificate confers to the holder the EANM block 3 « Introduction to other disciplines » of the « European postgraduate education of persons responsible for the small-scale production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals ».

- Basics of pre-clinical pharmacokinetics.
- Methods of toxicity assessment.
- Metabolic therapy.
- Radiolabelled antibodies and peptides - Immunotherapy.
- Comparative studies: scintigraphy versus other imaging techniques.
- Clinical applications: cardiology, neuro-imaging, psychiatry, oncology, metabolic therapy.
- Introduction to the use of radiopharmaceuticals in research.
- Clinical trials of radiopharmaceuticals in drug development.
- Animal models, animal protection regulation.
- Small animal imaging.
- Radioecology.
MÉTHODE
Lectures and exercises. Skills assessment.

Maximum number of trainees: 12.
