Title
Model system Pickering emulsion using new hybrid nanoparticles.
Abstract
An emulsion is a dispersion of one liquid in another immiscible liquid. This mixture is unstable and requires the addition of surfactants or polymers to stabilize it. Another possibility is to use solid particles, so called Pickering emulsion. It has original properties generally attributed to the irreversible adsorption of particles at the interface between the immiscible phases. This thesis proposes using a model system of Pickering emulsion. We have developed a laboratory manufacturing process of original functionalized nanoparticles (size, aspect ratio and hydrophobicity controlled) and an emulsio generator controlled by microfluidic. With this system we want to study the role of interactions between adsorbed particles in the stabilization and destabilization of emulsions.
