Title
Simulation of shock wave propagation in aqueous foams
Abstract
Pyrotechnic confinement is an important axis of research for national security. Tents filled with aqueous foams, among other technologies, can be used to attenuate the blast wave and capture the particles produced by the explosion. The work from a first thesis, based on experimental campaigns carried out at CEA/DAM and on the development of a spherical one-dimensional numerical model, has shown the importance of momentum and energy transfers between the liquid and the gas of the foam. The present thesis will follow this theme with attention to situations when the foam is shocked twice and to the behaviour of particles.
